Construction committee: the new Church construction project is certainly a Herculean task, in part because it was decided from the outset that we'd adhere to Orthodox tradition, and partly since the existing building’s original foundation and structure required extensive work (the building is a century old).  Indeed, the Community Centre may actually encompass part of the 1st Saint Matthias Church property, which had its opening service 130 years ago in 1882.  The proposed renovation project is only feasible because numerous Parishioners, including those whose principal occupation relates to the construction industry, are selfless in donating their time.  In this day and age, time is a commodity that is equally as pertinent as monetary funds.  Moreover, the donations received were hard earned by countless work hours spent by Parishioners.

Open Doors CommitteeOpen Doors Halifax is an event which aims to enhance the public's knowledge of local heritage, history, and environment.  In 2014, Saint Antonios joined the effort and opened its doors during the June 7th weekend.  Approximately 650 people visited the site, and there was a wonderful turnout by former Anglican members of Saint Matthias, whose enthusiasm was contagious.
